Surrounded by majestic cliffs and immersed in the Mediterranean landscape, Cala la Granadella is one of the most picturesque beaches on the Costa Blanca in Spain. Located in the heart of the municipality of Jávea (Xàbia), this small, rocky cove is a gem that attracts tourists with its pristine turquoise waters and lush green cliffs.
Granadella stretches for just over 150 meters, but its charm is disproportionate to its size. The crystal clear, turquoise waters are reminiscent of those known from the wild beaches of Mallorca, and the smooth pebbles on the shore make walking on the beach a pure pleasure. Since 1987, the beach has continuously won the prestigious "Blue Flag" for cleanliness and quality, which is a testament to its extremely high standards.
The descent into the water is gentle, but the depth increases quickly, making Granadella a great destination for snorkeling enthusiasts. Thanks to its location in a deep bay, surrounded by mountains, the beach is naturally sheltered from the wind, which ensures calm conditions even on windy days.
Despite its popularity, especially during the summer months, Granadella retains its charm, although it is advisable to plan to arrive early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Outside the summer season – preferably in June, September or October – the beach offers a more peaceful and personal experience.
The beach's infrastructure is perfectly developed – there are public toilets, sun umbrellas, kayak rental, as well as a bar and restaurants that serve local delicacies. For those who want to enjoy the views, there are viewpoints on both sides of the bay with breathtaking panoramas.
Directions to Cala la Granadella
The beach is easily accessible from both Alicante and Valencia, being located 100 km and 120 km from these cities respectively. To reach Granadella, you just have to direct your navigation to Tio Catala Street 35 in Jávea. Parking lots are available along the access street and on parallel streets, where you can usually find a parking space.
Cala la Granadella is a place that every nature and sunbathing lover should visit when on the Costa Blanca – it is the perfect combination of natural beauty, tranquility and excellent infrastructure, which together create an unforgettable experience.
