MUBAG Gallery
Intimate gallery in a beautiful palace, perfect for a quiet 30-40 minutes between walks. Local art, no crowds and no ticket.
If you fancy something quieter after a day of walking around Alicante, MUBAG is a very good destination.
The gallery is located in the eighteenth-century Gravina Palace, so the interior itself creates an atmosphere. It is not a huge museum, rather a pleasant space that can be embraced without haste and fatigue.
Inside, you'll find mostly art related to the Alicante region - quite a few works from the 19th century that show local life, landscapes and the atmosphere of the time. It's not a "heavy" gallery - rather one where you enter out of curiosity and leave with the feeling that you've made good use of the moment.
A big plus for the opening hours: during the week it works until 20:00, so you can easily come here in the evening, when the sun has already let go and you still have some energy.
It won't take much time, won't overwhelm you, and gives a nice contrast to the whole "beach + city".
And most importantly - admission is free, so you don't have to 🙂 think twice
