Serra Grossa - Alicante
A rocky hill with views of the sea and the castle. A nice option for a walk or light trekking - depending on how tired you want to get.
If you fancy more than just a walk along the promenade, Serra Grossa is a very good choice.
It's a hill located near the center, but the climate is completely different - more harsh, wild, without crowds. It consists of two parts and each gives you a slightly different experience.
The first, lower climb is more of a brisk walk than an effort.
The most popular point is the Mirador de la Sangueta, a little forgotten but still great for the sunrise. The view goes more towards the sea and Cap de l'Horta than the city, but that's what the vibe does.
If you have more energy, it's worth going further and climbing higher - that's where the slight "climbing" begins, but the view of the Castle of Santa Bárbara makes up for everything.
The second hill is a completely different story.
Longer, flatter, with marked paths – perfect for walking, jogging or leisurely trekking. Locals often come here just to move around and catch some space.
The most important thing: if you want to enter comfortably - go from the side of Albufereta beach. There is a serpentine (such a wide path), without fiddling and climbing stones.
At the top, there are views in both directions - the castle and the city on the one hand, the sea and the surroundings of Albufereta on the other. There is also the Mirador de la Serra Grossa, where you can just sit and sit for a while without rushing.
This is not a place for "Instagram photos".
It's more of a space to move, air your head and see Alicante from a slightly different, less obvious side.
